AVENUE

In modern society, we often refer to co-habitation. For the users of this project, it is even more important than the elderly often need companionship and assistance. And the creation of a shared community can greatly improve their quality of life.

The renovation was a rich one, considering not only the design of the living space, but also the activity areas, and recreational needs of the elderly, so we tried to divide each area and planned the events separately.

COMMUNITY

The shell of the factory remains intact, and the existing structure is roughly divided into four areas, the central area with its wavy-line skylights. Both sides were flanked by enclosed double-storey buildings, with two sides of the factory surrounding the yard.

We used every inch of space to insert several recreational and leisure areas decorated with greenery and make the whole community more sustainable, productive and functional.

LIVING SPACE

Typology

Based on a concept, we have designed two different modular houses. Differing in the capacity of the space, and the direction of their sloping roofs, design the shape of the house according to its placement point and in consideration of the geographical location of the building so that it can guarantee comfortable living conditions in any climate change.

Socialisation

Modular houses need to be placed in such a way that social activities are taken into account. For older people, socialising is extremely important. The space left between modules can be used entirely as a gathering place for social activities. The position of the windows in the house also promotes communication between neighbours.
